I have always been fascinated by historical nonfiction, especially moments from the 20th Century onward. My first book, The Spirit of Missouri, promotes the history of professional sports in the Show Me State, bringing to light many subjects and events in one of the greatest forms of entertainment.

The history of professional sports in Missouri is relatively unique and largely unknown to fans across the country and the world. Most mainstream sports media have never even heard of some of the teams, and most importantly the people, that have made such a lasting impact on not just professional sports in Missouri, but sports all around the United States.

Over the past 100-plus years, Missouri sports have held both tragedy and triumph on its greatest stage. The story needs to be told for its lasting impact on American professional sports.

Sports have always been a popular form of entertainment, especially in the United States, and each state has its own unique identity and history. For instance, Alaska’s sports history differs significantly from Missouri's or Florida's. Some have been emphasized more at the collegiate level than at the professional level.

My fascination with history is evident in my work as I continue to expand my expertise in the field.
